2010 Redistricting Changes:
Redistricting Process: The legislature is responsible for congressional and state legislative redistricting. Plans produced by the respective standing committees for the House and Senate are considered in a special session of the General Assembly. Any plans passed are subject to a gubernatorial veto. There are no constitutional requirements regarding when a plan is passed, but the special session is traditionally held in the summer after the release of census data.
